Barack O'Bama
"Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Thursday the United States
cannot use its military to solve humanitarian problems and that preventing a
potential genocide in Iraq isn’t a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces
there.
“Well, look, if that’s the criteria by which we are making decisions
on the deployment of U.S. forces, then by that argument you would have 300,000
troops in the Congo right now — where millions have been slaughtered as a
consequence of ethnic strife — which we haven’t done,” Obama said in an
interview with The Associated Press.
“We would be deploying unilaterally and
occupying the Sudan, which we haven’t done. Those of us who care about Darfur
don’t think it would be a good idea,” he said."
This, obvious, point is a great argument... unfortunately few people are able to undestand and put into action the words he and others say again and again. "Get out of Iraq".

What SharePoint is:
http://weblog.infoworld.com/openresource/archives/2007/04/while_you_were.html
SharePoint is its new operating system - the hub or platform upon which its hold on the enterprise tightens and extends. No matter what product you're selling into the enterprise, if you don't have a SharePoint story, you're in trouble.
http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=327
Microsoft officials increasingly are talking up "Software + Services," as opposed to "Software as a Service" in explaining Microsoft's future. So how does Microsoft keep the growing family of business services it is introducing tethered to on-premise software?
SharePoint Server is the answer. Not Windows. Not Windows Server. Not Office. SharePoint.
Ballmer told the Convergence questioner he was dead-on in his thinking.
"SharePoint is the definitive OS or platform for the middle tier," Ballmer explained.
http://www.sharepointbuzz.com/index.php/2007/03/15/sharepoint-the-next-big-operating-system-from-Microsoft/
Its a good vision of what's to come with SharePoint. Recently, we heard about Microsoft Announces New Package to Extend Microsoft Dynamics ERP Solutions to Microsoft Office Users. This integration of Dynamics and SharePoint was interesting with few noticing the impact of this.
http://www.it-director.com/business/content.php?cid=9570 (this is about SharePoint being used by the DOE after complying with governmental standards, but pertinent here)
…"We believe that this announcement is noteworthy because it seems to confirm our belief that SharePoint is likely to emerge as a very strategic product for Microsoft in the enterprise market—more strategic than it would seem at the moment—and that Microsoft recognizes the leverage generated by conformance with government standards. We believe that SharePoint is Microsoft's way of attempting to seize the center ground, and not the battlefield occupied by SQL against Oracle, nor the operating system battle, but a way to be at the eye of the storm: the ultimate repository of all information regardless of format"…..

It sure feels like a tectonic shift in the web programming world is happening...the tricky part is seeing which way the ground's moving!

Office Live!
Office Live is amazing! They buy a domain name for you and host it via SharePoint. I can't believe they have done this so quickly, it is truly amazing and more deeply defines what MOSS 2007 is truly capable of.

Infinity By Zero Avatar ALPHA .3

I have created my ALPHA v0.3 GrAvatar/Symbol that represents my thoughts entirely. Infinity by Zero. What do we have here?

You be the judge, if you some day get to know me, I might explain my theory to you. But there is only 1 thing that I "Believe" in in this world, and that is that the product of Infinity and Zero is exactly 1. Given that Infinity is equal to 'n' + infinite zeros and 0 is equal to .infinite zeros, 'n'. Surely, you think this is an explaination, but no. It means much more to me that the product is exactly one. It, for me atleast, defines reality as a constant singularity. As Big Bang * Big Crunch = 1. If you were able to ignore time, or somehow get rid of it, everything would equal 1. Why? ... I might know, it might be my secret. Or maybe I have already told you. www.torrancemiller.com

Recentralization
I would like to add my thoughts:
- Each unit of civilization will need power and light, and most likely, to be self-sufficient will rely on solar and wind power as done in Schoenau, De: http://www.ews-schoenau.de/Informationen/International/english2.asp
- This is a market that could be globally localized.. if we could start a company that produced means for small towns to incorporate themselves and form mini power plants on a peer-to-peer basis we could create "community-power".
- Robotics and Human Interface Devices will go up in popularity as the cost for transport of IT People and having remote meetings rises. People will want to interact is the same, in-person ways that they have always done, but unfortunately, will not be able to. So I proaose virtual physical space: A way to project people in a meeting room around a table and be able to interact with their 3D image naturally. Also, Robots to maintian servers and other electronic components that would be human remote controlled by IT Professionals at a central location.
I will add to this later...

Torrance Miller dot com and IBZ Search
The Brand-New IBZ search is here for Me and people like me to find all of the things that define me. Such as the future, technology, and energy.
It is a Google Custom Search that only indexes sites that I specify. I DO NOT take requests for new sites.
Type in something like "Storage" to see why. When I search for "Storage" I am looking for Hydrogen Containment Units. Catch the drift?
