Using CO2 for Energy

http://www.inhabitat.com/2007/05/26/from-carbon-dioxide-to-fuel/

This article is particularly interesting in that it describes a way not only to reduce the amount of COO in the atmosphere but also make energy whilst do it. I am looking further into the method for doing this and will comment on it later.

Nanotechnology and Alternate Energy

Can nanotechnology be good for climate? by ZDNet's Roland Piquepaille -- The UK's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has recently released a long report stating that nanotechnology might offer hope for climate change. This study has focused on 5 specific areas: fuel additives, solar cells, the hydrogen economy, batteries and insulation. The conclusion of this report is that nanotechnology could contribute to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 20 per cent by 2050. The largest reduction would come from using hydrogen as a source of energy. Unfortunately, this might be very difficult and will take years.

I am thinking on this... I wonder how far we can go with extracting the energy given to us from the sun. I wonder how we can get solar arrays on top of every building and embedded in every vehicle in the world as soon as possible, I wonder how we should start to change and how fast it can be done.

Opening Statement

I am currently lookiing into what web 2.0 can offer my organization as an internal communication tool. The areas that I am focusing on are: simplicity, blogs, usability, spaces, community, etc. Basic networking etc. that comes with web 2.0. I am interested in connected the groups that have formed. These groups of people work great together, but when it comes to an issue that is outside of their subject area it is not the easiest task to find someone who is the most knowledgable to help them. Therefore, using SharePoint Server 2007 and MySites, I plan to allow every employee express what they want to accomplish and what they are skilled in at the company. I feel this will not only link people separated by nothing more than a wall to connect in ways that will benefit not only their morale but also help increase operational efficiency by introducing everyone to everyone in the company for the first time.

This will also open up a channel through which people such as the CEO, CTO, and CFO can communicate with the rest of the company by posting blogs of their vision of the future of the company and updating everyone who wants to know on the progress of important events in a simplistic manner.

I see a bright future with the use of Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007 and hope that my implementation will yield great results internally in my organization.

The Beginning

Currently I have several private blogs in mixed places, I am now making this my main public access blog where I will post things that I think are important and content that I feel should be indexed on google servers etc.
