Opening Statement

I am currently lookiing into what web 2.0 can offer my organization as an internal communication tool. The areas that I am focusing on are: simplicity, blogs, usability, spaces, community, etc. Basic networking etc. that comes with web 2.0. I am interested in connected the groups that have formed. These groups of people work great together, but when it comes to an issue that is outside of their subject area it is not the easiest task to find someone who is the most knowledgable to help them. Therefore, using SharePoint Server 2007 and MySites, I plan to allow every employee express what they want to accomplish and what they are skilled in at the company. I feel this will not only link people separated by nothing more than a wall to connect in ways that will benefit not only their morale but also help increase operational efficiency by introducing everyone to everyone in the company for the first time.

This will also open up a channel through which people such as the CEO, CTO, and CFO can communicate with the rest of the company by posting blogs of their vision of the future of the company and updating everyone who wants to know on the progress of important events in a simplistic manner.

I see a bright future with the use of Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007 and hope that my implementation will yield great results internally in my organization.
